DEAFHEAVEN at Aucklands Tuning Fork
Blackgaze - a genre so perplexingly out of sorts with itself that it somehow works, and works in a beautiful wave of soundscapes that leave the senses in an odd trans-dimensional euphoria.
With Wellington's Tuscoma opening the show as part of their final ever shows, and Californian headliners Deafheaven captivating Auckland's Tuning Fork attendees from their first note to their last – this "review" ends here and just presents my images, a largely facial study of Deafheaven frontman George Clarke and Tuscoma guitarist Craig Leahy.
